All services start with a referral
A digital referral document will be available in the future. In the meantime, please feel free to contact IBC admin in order to obtain a blank form.
-
The referral process
Once a referral has been received, it is uploaded to our secure server. Providers are then able to familiarize themselves with the details and request allocation to the case.
-
The Waitlist
All cases start on the secure server, aka the Waitlist. This enables providers to choose cases that they feel would be the best fit; reducing reassignment of cases and allowing providers to jump-in with ownership and authority.
-
In order for services to start
After the referral and staff allocation, an IFSP is required for staff to begin the intake process. The intake process includes the exchanging of releases and initial contact with client and placement.

Mentoring vs Independent Living (IL)
Mentoring and Independent Living services are similar. Both services contain a therapeutic element, life and goal planning, and working through contingencies. Where Mentoring is often associated with school-aged clients, Independent Living focuses on the transitional period of child to legal adulthood and the skills required in order to make the transition safely and effectively.

Parental vs Family Support Services
All services provided by IBC include “systems work”. The relationship between child and guardian is complex and there is no one-size-fits-all model. For this reason, Parental and Family Support are treated as one service within IBC; both utilizing a highly individualized, data-driven model in order to promote sustainability long after services end.
